● The human figure takes over the Tangerine Gallery in "Contours & Character: Artistic Vision of the Human Figure." And the gallery is looking to bring out the artist in you.
Figure models will be available during the opening reception 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, so bring your sketch book. Can't make the opening? Figure models will be there from 1 to 4 p.m. every Saturday during the show, which is on view through Nov. 15.

● Film buff Gloria McMillan's passion for cinema has fed her passion for making art.
Her series of watercolors, "Movie Moments," is what she calls her "transformation of scenes from classic films that have taught me some core values."
A show of her works opens Wednesday at the Artist-of-the-Month Gallery at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tucson, 4831 E. 22nd St. A reception is slated for noon-1:30 p.m. Oct. 12. The gallery is open 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. weekdays, and noon-1 p.m. Sundays. The show continues through Nov. 3.
