The hot spot: Trinity Bookstore, 3801 E. Fort Lowell Road, 326-3466.

Bookstore philosophy: Opened in 1986 on North Oracle and West Roger roads. Owner Donna Scott, 58, already had experience in the book industry when she started the store in its original location. Trinity is a Christian-based bookstore with items ranging from Bibles and statues to books in Spanish and holy cards.

Splurge on this: A wood resin Bavarian Madonna statue. Keep it outside on your patio or inside on a coffee table to show your faith. $125.95.

If you need a new Bible: The store has plenty, with the most popular being the New American Bible. Prices range from $8.75 to $50, with an optional name engraving in gold or silver for $3.50.

For the engaged couple: A lasso is used often in Mexican and Filipino weddings and is used during the wedding prayer. The lasso, which represents love, is placed in a figure-eight shape around the necks of the couples, and they wear it until the end of the ceremony. This lasso is made with imitation pearls and is gold-plated. $39.95.

Prison gifts: The store is able to send certain items purchased to those in prison.
