'Scuse us while we kiss the sky.
Purple haze has flooded fashion designers' brains this fall.
OK, we're not talking about the same dizzying haze Jimi Hendrix sang about, but purple has popped up everywhere, from men's dress shirts to women's sweaters and bustiers.
"There's a lot of eggplant; we have purple jeans, a purple tube top. Personally, I see a lot of purple in the magazines for this season," said Kelly Gilliam, the manager at Butz Jean Co., 4330 N. Campbell Ave.
Park Place mall was practically flooded with variations of the color. It was hard to find a store that wasn't in some sort of purple haze.
Two windows at Talbots boast violet hues. The Express window flaunts men's shirts from lavender to plum, with ties to match.
Inside the Guess store, you'll find a sexy plum corset ($69), and at Eddie Bauer a more modest amethyst cotton-blend argyle sweater ($59.50) or a sporty women's fleece ($39.50.)
A deep plum brocade jacket at Ann Taylor Loft ($69) competes with the charm of similarly hued chenille blazer ($99) and brighter suede jacket from Coldwater Creek ($99).
Purple haze all around, indeed.
