A giggly group of girls having lunch in a school cafeteria Saturday talked about music and friends and practice, giving no indication they'd just won gold medals at the annual Special Olympics basketball and cheerleading competition.
Officers are collecting donations for Special Olympics this month

Polar Plunge raises needed funds
The "Drowning Elks" team - from Catalina Mountain Lodge No. 2815 and Casas Adobes Lodge No. 2663 - stayed afloat to raise $6,340 during the Special Olympics Polar Plunge Feb. 27 at Breakers Water Park, 8555 W. Tangerine Road.
Groups to take plunge for Special Olympics
Special Olympics Arizona and the Arizona Law Enforcement Torch Run will host Tucson's Second Annual Polar Plunge at noon Feb. 27 at Breakers Water Park in Marana.
