High school football: Former UA player Heavner, coach at Tucson's Santa Rita High School, resigns
Kris Heavner has resigned as coach of the Santa Rita High School football team after one season.

Desert View 50, Santa Rita 42
At Santa Rita, Desert View (3-7) held off the Eagles (2-8) in an offensive shootout. Despite a late rally, the Eagles, fell short of forcing overtime in the final game of the season for both teams.
Cienega 58, Santa Rita 6
At Cienega, the Bobcats (7-2) defeated the Eagles (2-7) using a defense and special teams that scored 37 points. The Bobcats also held the Eagles to minus 45 yards rushing despite spending nearly the entire second quarter on the field due to turnovers.
Tucson 52, Santa Rita 15
At Tucson High, the Badgers (4-3) scored four second-half touchdowns to rout the Eagles (2-5).
Benson 49, Tanque Verde 6,
In Benson, the Hawks were unable to stop the Benson offensive attack, allowing 21 points in both the first and second quarters. Tanque Verde's only points came from field goals in the first and fourth quarters.
