Coverage OK'd for officers' survivors
PHOENIX - Spurred by the pleas of a widow of a Department of Public Safety officer, Gov. Jan Brewer signed legislation Friday to ensure survivors of police officers and others who die in the line of duty have taxpayer-provided health insurance for as long as they need.
Pima County moves toward self-insured health benefit model
Pima County is moving to a self-insurance model for its employees' health benefits, which could save taxpayers money in the long run.
