Sentencing stiffened for Arizona murderers
People who commit premeditated, first-degree murder will no longer be eligible for parole under a law that took effect Aug. 2. They can only be sentenced to death or natural life. Judges no longer have the option of imposing a 25-year-to-life sentence.
