Outside Karen Gebbia's back door, a 12-by-6-foot raised garden bed is home to a who's who of plants: tomatoes, jalapeño peppers, oregano, mint, dill and strawberries.
Colleen LaFleur plans to open L'Atelier de LaFleur, a European-style flower and gardening store, in the historic train depot downtown. She hopes the shop also will become a place where customers can get hands-on experience in flower arrangement.
When the construction dust settles down, you'll be able to smell the flowers downtown.
