FBI: Friendly fire killed Arizona Border Patrol agent
Border Patrol Agent Nicholas J. Ivie was killed by friendly fire, federal investigators confirmed today.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection helicopter covers the area where Border Patrol agent Nick Ivie was killed early Tuesday. A second agent was airlifted to a Tucson hospital with wounds that were not life-threatening; a third agent at the scene was not injured.

Monday's shootings of two Border Patrol agents "just goes to show that whether you are an armed Border Patrol agent on duty or a simple rancher like Rob Krentz out working his ranch - if you're in border country you are in peril," said Rod Rothrock, acting sheriff of Cochise County.
