Four Tucson teachers who have stepped up to make a difference in the lives of children at high-poverty schools are receiving recognition from the Rodel Foundation of Arizona.

Amphitheater High School's gymnasium was under construction in
August 1955. The Tucson Citizen reported it was Amphitheater's
"first new gymnasium in 62 years." The construction cost in 1955
was $203,000. It had bleachers for 800 "and room to expand to a
1,350 seating capacity."
