Qualifying for Rodeo Parade Horseback Marshal

Old Tucson livestock handler Jesse Bell, middle, demonstrates the proper rigging procedures for a horse-drawn wagon as volunteers try to qualify as horseback marshals for the 88th La Fiesta de los Vaqueros Rodeo Parade. Horse and rider must learn parts of the harness set-up for horse-drawn wagons in case a there is a problem with rigging during the parade. At the same time they need to handle a lead line for a team of horses in case they should go out of control, said Rick Monje, the horse marshal chairman.
