About Summer Celeste

I am a third generation Arizonan, born and raised in Tucson. Inspired by the desert I grew up in, I love recreating the beauty of it in my art. From the first time I could hold a crayon and scribble, I was filled with the desire to create. For me, the answer to what I would be when I grew up was always clear “An artist!”

Recreating the beauty of the desert in my art, both plant and wildlife alike is a joy for me, and most often requested for my custom orders. However, my designs are not limited the desert alone. I paint custom orders which include fancy scrolls, insects to elephants, fanciful creatures (like fairies and mermaids), even rubber duckies! I can paint anything from the naturalistic to geometric designs.

My china painting experience began in 1985. Since then, I have expanded my repertoire to include watercolors, acrylics, art glass design, painted wall murals and multi-media murals combining materials such as tile, glass, metal, wood and stone overlays to create dimension and texture.

Original murals and single tile art pieces are designed after working directly with the customer or designer to create the look they are trying to achieve. Each piece is a signed original. Murals are created both directly on the wall with acrylic paints, or fired porcelain and ceramic tile paintings installed onto the wall.

I enjoy teaching the art of china painting in my home studio and travel to others for group seminars.
