Locally owned and family operated by the husband and wife duo of Rick and Diana Friedman, Select Fitness has proudly serviced the community since 1996 by providing the most dynamic personal fitness studio in the Tucson Foothills.

The Friedmans, who cumulatively have more than 50 years of physical fitness experience and expertise, have owned Select Fitness since 2000. Diana and Rick, who has done professional personal training since 1985, are both nationally certified personal trainer. In addition, Diana is a certified Pilates instructor.

Select Fitness offers a variety of fitness training programs including one-on-one personal fitness training, small group fitness training, seniors fitness, corrective exercise, pilates, yoga and small fitness classes including TRX, boot camp and more.

We also have some of the best certified fitness trainers in Tucson with over 40 years of experience helping their clients achieve their fitness goals including weight loss, fat loss, strength, endurance, flexibility, and more.

Our beautiful, 3000-square-foot studio has been open since February of 1995. We renovated in March of 2006, and are located on the Southwest corner of Swan & Sunrise, conveniently located in the central Foothills.

We offer a fully equipped Personal Training and Pilates studio, and in addition to our highly trained staff, we offer showers, towel service, plenty of free parking, and fantastic mountain views.

Personal Fitness Training & Small Group Fitness Training

Our professional certified personal fitness trainers are experienced in providing customized fitness training programs and individualized attention to each client or to small groups of 2-3 clients (learn more about personal fitness training).

Small Group Fitness Classes

Select Fitness Tucson offers a variety of small group fitness classes including boot camp, circuit training, TRX, athletic training, Pilates and yoga.

All our fitness classes are taught by certified personal fitness trainers or certified yoga and Pilates instructors and are limited to small groups of 4-8 people so all participants still get plenty of individual attention.

Our fitness classes focus on training smarter in order to achieve results and you WILL be challenged during every single class with dynamic exercise progressions and a fun upbeat atmosphere.

Our small group fitness classes are fun, very effective for fat loss and fitness plus they're highly motivating without all the hardcore and extreme intimidation tactics you see at many other places. Our classes vary from month to month based on trainer availability and client preferences but the quick class descriptions below offer more details on some of our most popular classes. Full Body Circuit Training

A combination of strength training on machines and with body weight for general fitness and conditioning.

TRX Bodyweight Fitness

The TRX suspension trainer is one of the most popular pieces of fitness gear and can be used anywhere to train the entire body. This class combines all the top TRX fitness moves for total body fat burning, strength, toning, core conditioning, and flexibility.

Weight Loss Boot Camp

A combination of body weight exercises, weight training, cardio intervals on and off machines, plus core and stretching that blasts fat and calories and is designed to keep your metabolism elevated for up to 48 hours after your workout.


This class includes both mat Pilates exercises and Pilates equipment exercises that strengthen and lengthen the entire body. Classes focus on each participants fitness goals and are customized to each group.

Corrective Exercise & Senior Fitness

Many of our fitness trainers hold specialty certifications and have years of experience with fitness over 50, post rehab fitness, injury rehab, pain syndromes, senior fitness as well as holistic training and health and wellness.

Pilates/Yoga & Women Fitness

Our personal training studio also has a state of the art Pilates studio for private or small group Pilates, yoga, and mind body fitness goals.

Weight Loss Programs & Small Fitness Classes

All of our fitness training programs are customized to your specific goals including weight loss and fat loss. Our small group fitness classes such as boot camp, TRX, and indoor cycling (coming soon) are designed to maximize your metabolism so you burn fat and calories even when you're not in the Select Fitness training studio.
