To celebrate International Women's Day, an online community of women will blog and tweet about the importance of sisterhood through a virtual radio show and seminar.

Women on the Verge (www.womenontheverge.net) is a site where women from all around the world converge to express themselves. Anyone can create a free account.

Members discuss anything of their liking, but there is a monthly topic. For the month of March it is sisterhood.

"This is the month to honor and be grateful for our 'sisters' in this world," says Tucsonan Ana Lewis, who founded the website in 2009. "Embrace your sisterhood, your team and remember why they are so very, very important in the big picture."

International Women's Day, on Thursday, celebrates women's role in society and their economic, political and social achievements.

The Women on the Verge blogs get 1 million views a month.
