Rules of Fitz's caption contest:
Each Wednesday The Arizona Daily Star will publish a Fitz cartoon without a caption. We want you to come up with the funniest caption.
The contest deadline is 6 p.m.Thursday. The winning cartoon caption will be published on Sunday.
Rules
- Your submission must be an original idea
- Keep it short and snappy
- Contestants may submit no more than 5 captions per week
- No foul language or crude humor
- On Sunday we’ll post the the winner’s name and caption, and the two runners-up.
- Winners are not eligible to win again for one month
- Employees of the Star and Tucson's Newspapers are not eligible to win.
- Winners will be notified by e-mail and will receive a signed print of the cartoon, with the winning caption inked into the bubble by David Fitzsimmons.
- Decisions of the judges are final.
- Remember: The deadline is 6 p.m. Thursday.
To submit your entries, simply post your caption ideas in the area for reader comments. (No more than five ideas.)
We are not accepting entries by e-mail; enter via the web page for the cartoon's reader comments.
To submit a caption, you'll need to be a registered site user of StarNet, and you must be logged in.
If you've been banned from commenting, you won't be able to enter a caption in the contest.
If you win you'll be asked for your name, and e-mail address. Good luck!
