All lanes of traffic on South Houghton Road near East Irvington road are expected to be open by 6 a.m. Monday.
Crews from Tucson Electric Power "encountered some unexpected issues when working to repair downed power lines in the vicinity of South Houghton Road and East Irvington Road as well as South Harrison Road and East Irvington Road," Sgt. Maria Hawke, a Tucson police spokeswoman said in a news release.
Eastbound traffic on East Irvington Road is expected to remain closed until 6 p.m. Monday, the news release said.
Tucson police officers will help direct traffic "until traffic is able to flow smoothly and there are no longer safety concerns for persons traveling through the area," the release said.
