An elderly vulnerable man was found safe and unharmed in Sells today after he left his south side home Wednesday morning, and did not return.

Santos Urias, 77, who is in the early stages of dementia and also is a diabetic and has heart problems was recognized by a person after media reports about Urias gone missing, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman..

The person reported sighting Urias to authorities, and he was returned to his family in Tucson, Widmer said.

Sells, the capital of the Tohono O'odham Nation, is 60 miles southwest of Tucson.

Urias left his south side Tucson home in a 2000 Ford Taurus to go get lunch for himself and his wife, and did not return, Widmer said.
