A 26-year-old Tucson man was killed Sunday night and two other men injured in what appears to be an alcohol and drug-related crash.

Jonathan Castaneda was apparently speeding on North Campbell Avenue near East Ina Road shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday when he failed to negotiate a turn through a roundabout, according to a Pima County Sheriff’s news release.

The Infinity SUV crashed into the entry wall of the Cobblestone community and Castaneda died on the way to the hospital.

Two passengers, ages 23 and 25, remained hospitalized, one in critical condition, said Deputy Thomas Peine.

An investigation revealed none of the men were wearing seatbelts and there were no pre-crash skid marks on the road.

Marijuana and mushrooms — both packaged for sale — were in the sports utility vehicle along with a loaded shotgun, according to the news release.
