Tucson hit a record high Thursday, the second day in a row.
As of 1 p.m., the high reached 89 degrees. The old record of 87 was set in 2007.
The high today is expected to be in the low 90s.
A high-pressure system is keeping temperatures unusually warm for this time of year. Temperatures are expected to be slightly cooler during the weekend.
Wednesday’s high of 89 also was a record, breaking the old mark of 88, set in 1989.
Another record high could fall Friday. The record for the date is 93 degrees in 1910.
