The adoption fee for many pets at the Pima Animal Care Center is only $13 this month.

The special rate will apply to adult cats and to all dogs at the center that are 40 pounds or more.

All other pets will be $50. All adopted animals leave with vaccinations, microchips and spay/neuter surgery.

The county-run shelter is open seven days a week - noon-7 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

It's at 4000 N. Silverbell Road.
