Marana High preschool enrolling for next term
The Early Childhood Education program at Marana High School is enrolling children ages 3½ and 4 in the Tiger Cub Preschool.
High school students who work in the program, under the guidance of certified staff, work directly in the development and implementation of daily lesson plans and activities around a weekly theme.
Tiger Cub Preschool begins Feb. 17 and runs for 12 weeks. Hours of operation are Monday and Tuesday from 9 to 11:50 a.m., and Wednesday and Thursday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The program runs concurrently with the Marana High School spring calendar, with no preschool on Friday, AIMS test days and school holidays.
The cost for the 12-week preschool program is $50. Children must have current immunizations and be potty-trained to participate.

100 teens participate in health summit
More than 100 teens from Pima and Cochise counties participated in a Healthy Lifestyles leadership summit Dec. 3.
The teens — 4-H youth ambassadors — are part of Student Wellness Advocacy Teams, “SWAT” programs, at their schools.
The summit focused on educating youth about leadership skills that included problem-solving, trust and communication to improve their ability to be health ambassadors in their communities.
Students also participated in nutrition lessons and interactive discussions aimed at helping improve healthy living among youth and families in the state.
The event was part of “Eat4-Health” partnership between Arizona 4-H Council and UnitedHealthcare, aimed at activating thousands of youth nationwide to help fight obesity.
