Bead donations needed to aid animal charities
Beading Divas to the Rescue have raised more than $60,000 for animal charities since 2009 by selling one $20 bracelet at a time - and they're looking for your help.
The group launched a bead-collection drive last month. Members depend on donated beads to continue making and selling bracelets. All sales go to a different animal charity every month.
To donate beads, go to a dropoff location - find one near you at http://greyhoundinjuryfund.wordpress.com/bead-drop-off-locations or call 955-9061. The bead drive ends March 8.
If you'd like to be entered into a drawing, include your name, phone number and the name of a 501(c)(3) animal charity. On March 16, a random drawing will be held at Silver Sea Jewelry, 330 N. Fourth Ave. The winning charity will receive the proceeds from the April bracelet sales.

Holocaust survivors' recipes collected
With the generation of Holocaust survivors dying, Florida resident Joanne Caras and her family found a way to memorialize the lives of the 6 million Jews exterminated by Nazis in World War II.
Caras has collected more than 240 stories of Holocaust survivors from around the world who have shared with her about 500 food recipes from their families and communities. Caras will be selling and signing her cookbooks at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Congregation Young Israel, 2443 E. Fourth St.
She'll present stories and recipes from her two books, "The Holocaust Survivor Cookbook" and the recently published "Miracles & Meals." Foods from the cookbooks will be presented for tasting, and autographed cookbooks will be available for purchase. The entrance fee is $18 and books are $36.
Call 881-7956 or go to ChabadTucson.com to RSVP and preorder books.
