Reptile rescue group moving to new home
Tucson Reptile Rescue, which bills itself as Pima County’s only nonprofit, exotic reptile rescue group, will be moving Friday to 844 S. Sixth Ave.
The new location will be open to the public.
The organization is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and permanent placement of sick, injured, abandoned or surrendered pet exotic reptiles.
Its educational outreach programs have expanded to include hosting groups such as classes, Scout troops and families at the facility for a hands-on learning experience; appropriate-sized enclosures for large reptiles that are part of the outreach program so they can be viewed during regular hours of operation; and species-specific workshops on proper captive care.
The group helps with reptiles taken in that need new homes, and assistance with information, supplies, veterinarian bills and boarding.
