One of two Navy SEALs involved in a parachuting accident near Marana on Thursday has died.
The other is in stable condition at a hospital, a representative from Naval Special Warfare Command said.
The special forces service members from an east coast unit were at a military parachute testing and training facility at Pinal Airpark northwest of Tucson when the accident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. The SEALs were “participating in routine military free-fall training,” a spokesman for the command said.
Names of the SEALs have not yet been released.
The investigation is ongoing.
