A steady rain overnight means near half-inch precipitation totals or higher for much of the Tucson metro area.
According to the National Weather Service, Tucson Weather Forecast Office, this storm has brought the first rain to the area since Nov. 10 — and the highest measurable rain totals since Sept. 10.
The highest totals are found on Mount Lemmon, where several Pima County Regional Flood Control District gauge sites have recorded more than an inch of rain.
At Tucson International Airport, the city's official recording site, a total of 0.59 inches was reported this morning. This means the December rain total is currently above normal, but the yearly rain total is still more than three inches below normal.
