A 46-year-old man died after his SUV crashed into a palo verde tree early Monday morning on Tucson’s northwest side.

Thomas Lorock was driving a Jeep Cherokee near Ina Road and Avenida de Lisa when he left the roadway and hit the tree, Deputy Tom Peine, a spokesman for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

Lorock was taken to University of Arizona Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators did not find skid marks or any indications that Lorock tried to prevent the crash. Investigators do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash, the release said.
