1912: Enough signatures are gathered to place women's suffrage on the November 1912 ballot. The measure passes and Arizona becomes the ninth state in the United States to allow women the right to vote.
2011: A 72-mph wind speed is reported at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, when a severe thunderstorm arrives in Tucson. The storm is probably best remembered as the precursor to a giant haboob, or dust storm, that hit Phoenix later that night.
