1912: Gov. Richard E. Sloan writes to the governors of every state in the Union asking each of them to declare Arizona's Admission Day be observed as a national holiday.
1913: Tucson's all-time record low temperature is recorded — 6 degrees Fahrenheit.
1947, Henry Chee Dodge, the first chairman of the Navajo Tribal Council, dies at Sage Memorial Hospital at age 86.
2001: At a memorial for University of Arizona men's basketball coach Lute Olson's late wife, Bobbi, the floor in McKale Center is renamed "Lute & Bobbi Olson Court." The floor was previously recognized as "Lute Olson Court" on Feb. 26, 2000. Olson is one of three coaches in NCAA history to post 29 or more 20-win seasons — 20 of those consecutively.
