It's cold outside - but not for long

Enjoy the cool weather while you can, Tucson.

Temperatures are expected to spring back up to the high 60s by the end of the week.

A trough of low pressure brought early-morning showers to the Old Pueblo Saturday and there’s a slim chance of a repeat Monday.

“The main trough of low pressure still continues over the southwest states. That trough is going to have another disturbance rotate down into it as we get into Monday,” said meteorologist Chris Rasmussen of the National Weather Service in Tucson.

“As that little disturbance tracks through and starts to kick out of here Monday night, we start to see a little ridge of high pressure up along the West Coast ease into us and it should warm things up.”

The seven-day outlook forecast by the National Weather Service for Tucson, Green Valley, Vail and Marana is:

• Sunday — Partly cloudy, with highs between 52 and 57 degrees, and winds of between 5 and 10 miles per hour. Overnight lows will be between 28 and 34 degrees.

• Monday — Partly cloudy with a 10 percent chance of showers, highs between 52 and 57 degrees and winds about 10 miles per hour. Overnight lows will be between 27 and 32 degrees.

• Tuesday — Mostly sunny with highs between 54 and 59 degrees, and overnight lows of 29 to 34 degrees.

• Wednesday — Mostly sunny with highs between 59 and 64 degrees, and overnight lows of 32 to 41 degrees.

• Thursday — Mostly sunny with highs between 59 and 67 degrees, and overnight lows of 32 to 41 degrees.

• Friday — Partly cloudy with highs between 62 and 67, and overnight lows of 36 to 41.

• Saturday — Mostly sunny with highs between 63 and 68 degrees.
