Social visits: Make a difference in the life of someone living with chronic mental illness. Visit residents and engage in activities such as talking, playing games and cards, working on craft projects, watching television, reading and writing letters.
Desert gardener: Do you love to garden? A northwest-side retreat center needs a gardener for an organic vegetable garden in a peaceful, tobacco-free and pet-free environment. All tools and equipment are supplied and hours are flexible.
Rehab hospital assistant: A physical rehabilitation hospital is looking for help with activities and assistance with patients and their families. Duties may include greeting patients and guests, delivering flowers, preparing materials for patient admissions, serving as a dining room host, helping patients find seating, delivering trays, opening food containers and helping patients back to their rooms.
Support group facilitator: Facilitate peer support groups for children, teens and adults whose lives have been affected by serious illness or grief. Provide comfort and support through structured “talking circle” questions and activities. Commitment is two weekday evenings a month from 5:45 to 9 p.m. Applicants should be at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check.
