'Jesus Freak' author to speak at St. Philip's

Connections between worship and service will be explored

Sara Miles, author of "Take This Bread" and "Jesus Freak" and the founder of the food pantry at St. Gregory of Nyssa Episcopal Church in San Francisco, will lead several events on Feb. 25 and 26 at St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church.

The church is at 4440 N. Campbell Ave.

On Feb. 25, Miles will lead a workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. titled "Bread of Heaven & Daily Bread." She will talk about the connections between worship and service.

The $20 workshop fee includes materials and lunch. To register, send a check to St. Philip's in the Hills, P.O. Box 65840, Tucson, AZ, 85728-5840, attn: the Rev. Greg Foraker (Memo line: Sara Miles workshop).

Scholarship assistance is available. Child care will be available. Go to www.stphilipstucson.org/saramiles.html for more information. The workshop will be held in the Music Center.

On Feb. 26, Miles will preach at the 7:45, 9 and 11:15 a.m. worship services. She also will lead a community conversation at 10:15 a.m. in the Murphey Gallery.

Both of Miles' books are available in the Little Shop at St. Philip's.
