Youth group holding Sat. rummage sale
St. Philip's in the Hills Church's J2A (Journey to Adulthood) youth group will hold a rummage sale from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Children's Center Courtyard at the church, 4440 N. Campbell Ave.
The sale will include furniture, antiques, household items, tools, luggage, clothes, kids' toys and games, small appliances, sporting goods, pet accessories, kitchen items, artwork, books, DVDs, Wii games and more.
Proceeds from the rummage sale will support the J2A pilgrimage in summer 2014.
J2A is a two-year program beginning with grades eight and nine in year one and nine and 10 in year two that culminates in confirmation as an Episcopalian and a pilgrimage experience, according to a press release from the church.
Cash only will be accepted at the rummage sale.

Border issues focus of historian's talk
UA history professor Juan R. Garcia will speak about issues surrounding the U.S.-Mexico border from 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. May 4 in Linder Hall at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church, 8626 E. Tanque Verde Road.
Garcia will provide a historical and contemporary perspective by focusing on the misconceptions, facts and differing viewpoints on the border region, according to a news release. The presentation is designed to appeal to a broad audience and range of interests.
A program for children will run separately during the presentation, and a Mexican dinner will be served after a worship service from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dinner reservations must be made by calling the church office, 749-1606, no later than April 30.
