Five people will be honored at the Tucson Police Foundation's Unsung Heroes Celebration Banquet at the end of January.
Aside from recognizing the honorees, the banquet is also a fundraiser for the foundation, with money raised used for equipment and training expenses.
This year's event will take place on tomorrow at Loews Ventana Canyon, 7000 N. Resort Drive, with a silent auction beginning at 6 p.m. and dinner served at 7:30 p.m.
Honorees are selected for their contributions not only to work but also to the community, said Rob LaMaster, executive director of the Tucson Police Foundation.
This year's honorees are Sgt. David Fernandez with TPD's downtown division, Officer Dustin Dial with TPD's midtown division, Laura Vittorio, lead management analyst, and Marcia Roberts, a retired senior community projects manager. Mike Feder, the general manager of the Tucson Padres, will receive the Chairman's Award.
Tickets for the event are $150 each and can be bought online at www.tucsonpolicefoundation.org
