Teen’s research winnings to benefit wildlife efforts
A 16-year-old Tucson High Magnet School student’s winnings from her research on the presence of ocelots in Southern Arizona will benefit wildlife biologists at the Sky Island Alliance.
Meagan Bethel is presenting the first of two $500 checks that she was awarded from the Pollination Project today at 5 p.m.
The Pollination Project funds and helps translate ideas into action that benefits people, environmental sustainability, social justice, community health and wellness, arts and media.
Bethel earned the award last year for her previous work investigating the presence of ocelots in Southern Arizona, part of her long-term science research using remote-sensing cameras in a nearby mountain range for the Southern Arizona Regional Science and Engineering Fair.
