The public can offer feedback on a proposed improvement plan for the intersection of East Valencia and South Kolb roads at an open house next week.
The open house, hosted by the Regional Transportation Authority, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Stitt Auditorium at the Pima Air & Space Museum, 6000 E. Valencia Road.
The RTA is managing the project, which is part of the Valencia Road - Wilmot to Kolb - road improvement project approved by Pima County voters in May 2006 as part of the $2.1 billion, 20-year RTA plan, according to a news release from the RTA.
"The Valencia-Kolb intersection is considered one of the most congested intersections in the region," according to the news release.
"The proposed improvement plan consists of an interim improvement to the intersection to reduce traffic congestion until the remainder of the Wilmot-to-Kolb section is built in the future. Design work on the project will commence following the approval of the project concept by the RTA board."
Officials from the RTA project team, including design engineers, Pima County staff and MainStreet business assistance representatives, will be at the open house to answer questions.
