Demolition project to cause long detour on I-10

Road construction overnight Friday will close a segment of Interstate 10 between Tucson and Benson.

Drivers should be prepared for a 67-mile detour if traveling between 8 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday while crews from the Arizona Department of Transportation demolish the old Pantano Union Pacific Railroad Bridge.

The interstate will be closed in both directions beginning about 30 miles east of downtown Tucson.
