1880: The first railway mail service in the territory is established between Tucson and Los Angeles.

1899: Fritzie Scheff, famous light opera star, is annoyed when the water in her bathtub aboard her special Southern Pacific train splashes over the tub walls. She orders the train stopped in Stein's Pass until she could finish bathing.

1932: Tucson drugstores to sell wine.
