A woman was killed Sunday night in a two-vehicle collision on Tucson's south side. Blanca Reynoza, 40, was killed in the accident, which occurred shortly after 6 p.m., said Sgt. Chris Widmer, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department.

Reynoza, driving a 2008 Nissan Versa south on 12th Avenue, was in the left-turn lane just south of West Santa Paula Street near West Valencia Road when she made a U-turn into the path of a Chevrolet pickup traveling north in the curb lane on 12th Avenue, Widmer said in a news release.

Reynoza was taken to a hospital, where she died. The man driving the truck was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

The collision is under investigation.
