The son of the Willcox police chief was arrested Friday after he was accused of setting four fires and committing credit card fraud, authorities said.

Evan Weaver, 18, was booked into Cochise County jail on four counts of arson of property and one count of fraudulent use of a credit card, said Carol Capas, a Cochise County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

Weaver is suspected of setting two fires Sunday and two more Thursday, Capas said.

Willcox police are investigating the credit card charge, she said.

Weaver’s father, Chief Jake Weaver, declined to comment.
