A woman was injured when a bullet was accidentally fired through the wall of her south-side apartment Monday morning.

The incident happened at an apartment complex in the 5600 block of South Park Avenue, near East Drexel Road shortly before 11:40 a.m., Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson police spokesman said.

A neighbor said he accidentally fired a round that went through a wall and into the victim’s apartment and struck the woman, Widmer said.

The woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, Widmer said.
