A 45-year-old woman died after she was assaulted in her home early Thursday, Tucson police said.
Kimberly Tsonetokoy was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead later in the day, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.
Her live-in boyfriend, Arnold Granillo, 48, was arrested and booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of second-degree murder, Widmer said in a news release.
At about 4:30 a.m., a woman called to report her mother was bleeding from her head.
When police officers and fire personnel arrived at the home in the 300 block of West Adams Street near North Oracle Road and West Drachman Street, they found the woman with trauma indicative of assault. “She was not responsive and they started CPR,” Widmer said.
Detectives learned there was an argument between Granillo and Tsonetokoy, which led to the assault.
The victim’s adult daughter and her 5-year-old granddaughter were in the house when the assault occurred, but they were asleep.
