The Tucson Police Department arrested a man suspected of shooting a gun in the air at a crowded party at a student apartment complex.

Da’Wan Grandville Lord, 20, was arrested on suspicion of discharging a weapon within city limits for an incident that happened Jan. 26, at the Standard Apartments, 1800 N. Stone Ave., Tucson police said.

More than 1,000 people were at a party at the apartment complex when a gun was fired in the air by one of the attendees.

Nobody was injured.

A video of the shooting that showed the shooter’s neck tattoo was posted online.

Police began following up on several tips regarding the shooter’s identity.

Lord contacted the case detective through his attorney on Feb. 20 and turned himself at the Pima County Jail on Feb. 21.
