Three people police have linked to a rash of pool pump thefts on Tucson’s east side have been arrested.

Roger Crace, 36, Brett Geraci, 35, and Joshua Wellner, 24 were arrested Thursday on multiple felony charges associated with the thefts, which began July 4, said Sgt. Maria Hawke, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman.

Police connected the trio to 56 thefts, although there might be more incidents that have not been reported, Hawke said in a news release.

Police found eight stolen pumps when they arrested the men.

The three men likely stole the pumps so they could sell the items to metal recycling businesses, according to detectives.

Investigators identified the recycling businesses, but did not find enough evidence to allege criminal activity.

If someone has been a victim of a pool pump theft and have not reported it to police, they are encouraged to call 911 to make a police report.
