A Tucson man who killed his passenger and injured another woman in a fatal alcohol-related accident is facing between seven and 36 years in prison after entering a plea agreement Monday.

Daniel Douriet, 42, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and aggravated assault and will be sentenced Feb. 11 by Judge Christopher Browning of Pima County Superior Court.

Investigators determined Douriet lost control of his 2008 Dodge Charger while northbound on Benson Highway near East Irvington Road.

He hit a road sign, a light pole and a wire fence before veering back onto the road and into oncoming traffic, slamming into a 2007 Nissan Altima.

Douriet’s passenger, Elizabeth G. Acuña, 48, was killed and the 26-year-old woman driving the Altima suffered serious injuries.

Douriet sustained head injuries and was booked into jail after spending several days in the hospital.
