Tucson police have arrested a man suspected of robbing a cabdriver at knifepoint last month.

Michael Pitts, 37, was wanted on a felony warrant for armed robbery.

He is suspected of flagging down the cab in the 200 block of North Fourth Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. Jan. 19, and asking for a ride to North Ninth Avenue and West Lee Street. When the cab arrived at the destination, Pitts "put a knife to the cab driver's ribs and demanded money," Sgt. Chris Widmer, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department, said in a news release. He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

At about 2 a.m. Wednesday police officers saw Pitts near the intersection of North 10th Avenue and West Adams Street. He was arrested without incident and booked into the Pima County jail, Widmer said.
