A man was arrested Thursday in connection with downloading child pornography, police said.

Frank M. Vasquez, 36, of the 1600 block of South San Marcos Place, was booked into the Pima County jail on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

In September, detectives of the Internet crimes against children unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a person downloading child pornography, said Widmer.

An investigation revealed the material was being downloaded from Vasquez's residence. The house is in a neighborhood near West Starr Pass Boulevard and South Greasewood Road.

A search warrant was served Thursday by detectives with the assistance of federal marshals, and evidence was found that implicated Vasquez, Widmer said.
