A 13-year-old boy who participated in a home invasion will spend the next four months in a therapeutic boarding school, followed by a year on intensive probation.

The boy admitted his involvement in an Oro Valley home invasion and was sentenced Wednesday in Pima County Juvenile Court, Deputy Pima County Attorney Dale Cardy said.

Last November, a 65-year-old woman told police she was tied up and robbed by four strangers after she let a boy who looked to be about 10 into her home to call his mom.

The victim went to the Facebook page of a woman dating her ex-boyfriend soon after robbery after remembering the woman had sons the same age as a couple of her assailants, according to court documents. She recognized one of the woman’s sons as the boy she left into her home. The woman called police and picked the same suspect out of a photo lineup.

The victim’s ex-boyfriend, Wellington Marin, admitted driving to her neighborhood and walking to her house with his new girlfriend, Jacqueline Carlson, Carlson’s 18-year-old son, Anthony White-Giordano and the 13-year-old boy, according to court documents.

Marin also said he saw the 13-year-old knock on the door and Carlson and White-Giordano punching the woman. He also told investigators he stole items from her house after the 13-year-old let him in and that he drove Carlson to a pawnshop to pawn some of the victim’s jewelry.

White-Giordano also confessed and police have video of Carlson pawning the victim's items, court documents state.

Carlson denied being in the victim's house, but admitted pawning the jewelry, court documents indicate.

The three adults in the case are scheduled to be in court Feb. 7.
