The death of an Oro Valley man who’s wife said shot himself has been ruled a homicide, police said.

Oro Valley police responded to the couple’s home in the 12000 block of North Yellow Bird Road on Nov. 15 after Janet Rennspies called 911 to report that her husband Norman shot himself, Lt. Kara Riley, a department spokeswoman said in a news release.

Janet Rennspies, 51, was the only other person in the home when officers arrived, Riley said.

Norman Rennspies was taken to the hospital where he later died from a gunshot wound to the head.

On Nov. 21, Janet Rennspies was reported missing and was found dead six days later near Mount Lemmon.
