The Tucson fire and police departments are investigating a series of fires that occurred within 24 hours near East Golf Links Road and South Camino Seco.

The most recent blaze was reported today about 2 a.m. near the La Petite Academy child care center, 8885 E. Golf Links Road, when firefighters responded to a report of a car fire, said Capt. Barrett Baker, a Tucson Fire Department spokesman.

Firefighters responded to another car fire about 2 a.m. Wednesday morning,  as well as a dumpster fire within about 20 minutes of each other, Baker said.

Both fires were set in the neighborhood near the child care center.
