A man wanted in connection with the shooting death of his girlfriend two weeks ago was arrested in Los Angeles and brought back here Sunday.
Stephen Malone, 29, was brougt back by Pima County Sheriff's Department homicide detectives and booked into the Pima County jail, said Deputy Tracy Suitt, a department spokesman.
Malone is facing domestic violence/first-degree murder in the slaying of Augustina "Tina" Soto, 25, on June 11, Suitt said.
He also is facing three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, or dangerous instrument; two counts of domestic violence/endangerment; and discharging a firearm at a structure, said Suitt.
Malone was arrested in Los Angeles June 12, authorities said.
Soto was killed as she sat in the driver's seat of a car in the 4900 block of East Butterweed Drive, southwest of East Valencia Road and Interstate 10, officials said.
In the car with her were sister, Avita Soto, who was injured in the shooting. Tina Soto and Malone's daughters — ages 4 and 5 — were sitting in the back seat.
